ISABELLA & CAMERON

When Isabella and Cameron first came to Emma, they already knew they wanted a salt and pepper diamond for their engagement ring. The brief was something elegant and simple, not too flashy, with maybe a few diamonds on the shoulders to add a bit of sparkle.

Salt and pepper diamonds are wonderfully unique — each one full of its own constellation of black and white inclusions, perfectly imperfect in their own way. Finding the right balance of those tones was an important part of the search.

After the initial consultation with both of them, where they talked through ideas and possibilities, Cameron and Emma continued working together in secret so the final design and proposal would still be a surprise. This way of working is one of Emma’s favourites; the person receiving the ring can share what they’re drawn to, and she can size them accurately, but the final details remain tucked away until the day itself.

Cam chose a stormy pear-cut diamond — something not too light and not too dark — and I set it in a refined platinum setting with trios of tiny white diamonds to frame the centre stone. When Isabella later told Emma about the proposal, it was clear that she adored the choices Cameron made and that it was the perfect design for her.
