Looking South Drops · Medium

from $155.00

The Looking South collection was inspired by the force of compressional stress. This natural pressure squeezes rock and layers of the earth together, creating seemingly impossible formations in cliffs or pushing structures up through the earth’s surface. Emma explored this idea by layering and compressing pieces of wax to form her own interpretations of the phenomenon.

Once formed, the piece is cast in precious metal using the ancient lost wax casting process in Sydney and then hand-finished in Emma Field's workshop.

FAQs

  • Every choice of metal is considered for its durability and how it carries the design’s intention. Emma Field’s ready-to-wear collection is made with 925 sterling silver and may be gold-plated. Bespoke jewellery or custom orders can also be crafted in precious metals, such as gold or platinum.

  • The 925 sterling silver used in the Emma Field studio is nickel-free. If you have sensitivities to other trace metals, such as copper, please get in touch for guidance.

  • Absolutely. Every design can be customised in metal, shape, and size, allowing each piece to reflect personal expression. Get in touch to discuss a custom order.

  • One option is to measure the internal diameter of an existing ring that fits the finger. To do this, place the ring against a ruler or trace its inner circle on paper and measure. Wrapping paper or string around the finger also works. Another option is to visit Emma at a local market for an on-site measurement.
